Jinshan is the first place to be developed in North Coast. During the Ching Dynasty, all kinds of shops gathered in the narrow streets. Ships coming in and out of the harbor, brought in sales and commodities to Jinbaoli old street. No wonder the people in Jinshan Township are so proud of the old street. Surviving the Ching Dynasty, the Japanese colonial period and the restoration of Taiwan, some old buildings on the old street have been replaced. Only a few old buildings remain. Walking towards the Temple of Goddess Matsu—“Cihu Temple”, one can still see some old brick buildings of Japanese style and Fukien style along the old street. The best way to reminisce about the old memories is to taste the local snacks. Don't forget to taste the duck meat sold in front of the temple, the sesame cakes with egg yolk sold in Shuangsing Bakery and the tasty Chinese feta, curry patties and moon cakes with green beans. |
